Discussion Takeaways

  • Food has huge implications for quality of life and longevity.
  • The soil quality can improve or deplete the quality of food which can increase chronic disease, alongside processed food.
  • A lot of bigger organizations, while there's a place for them, might not have that connection with the people they're serving.
  • Until we know our value and integrate it into these systems as permanent line items, and we can communicate the value and demand that this is financially aligned to benefit and uphold communities and these farmers, we're not going to get anywhere.
  • Food dignity is giving people the best quality food to those who have the worst health conditions and the most low income.
  • Dignity is giving people the best service possible and recognizing that they are not beneath us.
